What should young people do with their lives today? Many things, obviously. But the most daring thing is to create stable communities in which the terrible disease of loneliness can be cured.”
Kurt Vonnegut
For many entrepreneurs, especially women, the journey can often feel lonely. Growing a business requires passion, focus, and resilience, but it also means navigating long stretches of isolation. Sometimes, we get stuck in our work, making it hard to progress. Finding the right balance between work, personal growth, and connecting with others can be challenging. I feel that too, that is why I’m incredibly fortunate to have had the chance to tackle both personal and professional challenges while staying in a beautiful coliving space in Castilla y León, Spain.
I’ve always been captivated by Spain—the rich cultural heritage, stunning landscapes, and warm hospitality. I was thrilled to join The Break program for women entrepreneurs, and it’s no coincidence that I’ve been returning regularly to Open Orbi ever since.

When the opportunity to work remotely in Castilla y León came up, I saw it as the perfect escape from the solitary nature of my entrepreneurial path. Even more importantly, it gave me the chance to experience something new: coliving and coworking with other entrepreneurs.
Castilla y León, with its rolling plains, medieval architecture, and serene natural beauty, was the ideal destination for combining focused work with rejuvenation and personal time. The slower pace of life allowed me to fully immerse myself in the experience —living in the moment while planning for the future.
Upon arriving in Castilla y León, I always spend time at Open Orbi. This beautiful and unique space, with its stunning views, offers more than just a comfortable place to stay. It’s a thriving environment filled with like-minded entrepreneurs, digital nomads, and creatives from around the world. The nearby city of Burgo de Osma offers the joy of exploring the region’s rich culture and history. Sitting and working in front of the Gothic cathedral feels like a journey through time.

For someone who often feels the loneliness of entrepreneurship, being surrounded by other professionals here is truly inspiring—a real game-changer. You’re constantly in the company of individuals with similar ambitions—people with whom you can exchange ideas, share expertise, and build camaraderie.
Coliving isn’t just about shared living; it’s about a shared experience. The daily conversations with fellow entrepreneurs continually inspire me to think differently about my business. Whether brainstorming over breakfast or collaborating during evening dinners, these interactions push my ideas forward and give me fresh perspectives. The vibrant community within the coliving space helps me regularly dissolve the loneliness that often comes with running a business. It also fosters a deep sense of belonging. Coliving connects me with others who understand the pressures of entrepreneurship, creating solidarity and support that I hadn’t experienced in traditional workspaces. This community offers more than just professional growth—it provides emotional support, collaboration, and friendship.
I’ve found a place I can always return to, and over time, I’ve built friendships with people I can work with. It’s been such a wonderful experience.
The Spanish lifestyle plays a significant role in transforming my experience, too. Each day follows a refreshing rhythm—mornings are dedicated to focused work in a shared space, afternoons are spent exploring the surrounding countryside or discovering the region’s historical gems, and evenings bring lively conversations with the haunting backdrop of sunsets. Stargazing at night is also a unique, unforgettable experience.
In conclusion, the coliving space not only provides a productive environment for work but also encourages you to step back, unwind, and enjoy life’s simple pleasures. This experience is a reminder that sometimes, taking a leap into a new environment can not only rejuvenate your spirit but also open doors to personal and business breakthroughs. For those seeking more than just a workspace, coliving might be the key to unlocking both success and fulfillment.
I would like to thank all my fellow entrepreneurs I worked with, and I’m especially grateful to everyone at Open Orbi. I can truly say I’ve found a second home to return to. Thank you, Tristan, Marina, Carlos, Julio, Javier, Santi, Eva, Alex, Gennaro, and Rusti. See you soon!
